The connections I made with myself and others were surprisingly deep. I left feeling more inspired and nourished than I had for a long time. Most of all, it was fun!
What is a StoryCircle?A StoryCircle is exactly what it sounds like: a group of people gathered in a circle (real or virtual) to share stories. That's it. . .and in these times, the simplicity of connecting through story can be incredibly powerful.
The StoryCircle practice we use has been developed over the past decade to make story-sharing accessible for everyone from seasoned storytellers to those of us who experience anxiety around speaking in groups. Benefits of participating in a StoryCircle (beyond getting to practice your storytelling!) include an experience of authentic connection with self and others, nervous system support, inspiration, and a practice of imagination, deep listening, and presence. It's surprising, deep, and always powerful. Join us! |
How it Works
Step 1: Sign UpOnce you register, you'll receive a confirmation with a Zoom link. We meet online from 5:00 to 6:00 PM PST on the first Tuesday of the month.
I know we're all a bit Zoomed Out and I've found over the past two years that when we connect deeply in virtual spaces, it's actually replenishing instead of depleting. |
Step 2: Show UpWhen you join, you'll be welcomed and we'll move into the StoryCircle process.
I'll invite you to connect with a story based on a prompt. You'll have the chance to share your story and hear others in a small group. We'll have space at the end to share and ask questions. |

FAQ
I've never really told a story, can I still participate?
Absolutely! The experience is designed to welcome folks of all levels of experience and backgrounds. We each bring our unique experience and story to the space; that's part of what makes it so powerful.
Do I need to join on camera?
Joining on camera is preferred to, as much as possible, replicate the experience of being in-person. That said, if you'd like to join and are overloaded on screen time or simply don't have access to a reliable internet connection, you're very welcome and it works just fine.
I'm nervous about sharing stories with strangers. Will our stories be kept confidential?
Yes! We ask that every participant agree to strict confidentiality at the beginning of either gathering. In addition, if there are additional agreements that anyone would like to add to create a sense of safety, there is space for that.
Can you give a sense of the type of prompts that we'll use?
The prompts we use are designed to help you connect with specific moments from your life as opposed to broad narratives. Generally, we stick with prompts that connect you with stories of strength and resilience. One week we might explore stories of moments that you experienced a sense of joy or freedom, another week we might explore moments that you felt really brave.
